Another blog...

The Rakino Ratepayers Association has set up their own official blog in an effort to control the dissemination of information, here.

You may notice some similarities to this site :). I hope that this is a step towards them becoming more transparent and informing the public of their works and that they report the unvarnished truth. I see no point in attempting to rival them.

Easter, and all that jazz!

HOWZZZZTHAT

Easter weekend on Rakino was beauty fine every day. We had our Jazz & Art Picnic on Saturday 7th April which was a huge success. Sandy Bay had more boats in it than I've ever seen in the 19 years that I've been coming here. The jazz bands and singers did superb jobs.

Sundays clean up went well. At 4pm we had a very well attended and constructive meeting followed by a BBQ for those who stayed on.

Monday, at 9.20am we held the 2nd children's fishing competition on our wharf at Sandy Bay. Sausages were cooked continually on the BBQ. Drinks were passed out followed by sweets for all. The judging was started at 12 noon sharp. 2 appointed judges examined the catch and our winners were 1) Sam Parker 2) Angus Chisholm 3) Santana Hunt. Judges were Eddie Parker and John Chisholm. More chocolates and sweets were handed out. The people started to head off up the hill as we started the cleaning up. I arrived home for some lunch about 1pm and had 3 1/2 hrs left for my holiday even so I had a really enjoyable weekend. I would like to thank all those willing helpers who helped setting up, cleaning up and making the organisers jobs that much easier.
